Parang, Maguindanao-Basilan ro-ro service formally launched


A brand new roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) service between Polloc-Parang, Maguindanao del Norte and Lamitan port in Basilan was formally launched on April 25.
The weekly transport operation is the primary section of the RoRo transport community in Bangsamoro Autonomous Area in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) geared toward enhancing connectivity out and in of the area, Bangsamoro Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) stated in an announcement.

The launch, spearheaded by BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim and MOTC Minister Paisalin Tago, follows approval of the brand new route by the Bangsamoro Maritime Trade Authority in a board assembly on April 13.

The MV Island Paradise, owned by Atty. Pherham Saiddi of Saiddi Agri-Farm and Buying and selling, Inc., is used on the Maguindanao-Basilan ro-ro service.
